I made this piece because I wanted to hold onto the memory of a river that is no longer there. The image is inspired by a dried river bed, and I let the colors and textures speak to that quiet, cracked silence.
The work has a strong diagonal flow, moving from the top left to the bottom right. It feels like a map of a past path, with deep reds and golds marking the ground. The white space around it is heavy and still, giving the colorful path room to breathe. It is a study in absence, showing what was left behind when the water finally stopped.
