The sky turns green above the mountains, that brief flash of color. I painted the scene to keep the feeling of standing under a night sky that is alive. The dark peaks stand still against the shifting light, while the water below reflects the cool tones of the night.
The piece is finished with a layer that glows in the dark, so the colors shift and move when the lights go down. It feels less like a picture and more like a window into a quiet, cold place. The light dances over the surface, catching the eye in a way that feels a little like magic.
