A central circle of deep red and green stones anchors this piece, a space where the light can play. The white clay base holds a pattern of leaves and scrolls that feels both ancient and fresh. It is a quiet kind of brightness, the sort that makes a room feel open and clean.
The small mirrors catch the light and send it back to the room, while the colored gems add a steady, grounding weight to the center. I hoped to hold onto that balance between the soft texture of the clay and the hard sparkle of the inlay. It is a piece that asks for a moment of stillness before you look away.
